LaserFlow® - the UNradar Non-Contact Velocity Sensor

Teledyne ISCO’s LaserFlow non-contact velocity sensor has several UNique traits that make it the UNradar. Next to LaserFlow, radar is UNdesirable in a wide range of applications. In fact, radar is often UNsuitable and UNacceptable by comparison. Radar simply is UNable to match the UNparalleled accuracy, dependability, and usable data LaserFlow provides.

LaserFlow’s superiority is UNambiguous:

  • UNlike Radar, LaserFlow’s accuracy is not affected by a calm water surface.
  • UNlike Radar, LaserFlow’s accuracy is not affected by surface ripples caused by wind.
  • UNlike Radar, LaserFlow does not need a manual handheld velocity meter for calibration.
  • UNlike Radar, LaserFlow provides detailed diagnostics.
  • UNlike Radar, LaserFlow does not measure surface velocity, which is a significant advantage.
  • UNlike Radar, LaserFlow measures velocity below the surface, which is inherently more accurate.
  • UNlike Radar, LaserFlow does not require surface ripples to make a measurement.
  • UNlike Radar, LaserFlow has MCERTS Class 2 certification meeting or exceeding +/-4% flowrate accuracy.
  • UNlike Radar, LaserFlow Ex is available for intrinsically safe applications.
  • UNlike Radar, LaserFlow can measure very low flows.

LaserFlow, the only non-contact flow measurement device to read below the surface. The LaserFlow device can be programmed to take a velocity measurement at single or multiple points below the water's surface. We also offer our intrinsically-safe LaserFlow Ex, specifically designed with safety in mind. For applications within the United Kingdom requiring certification by The Environment Agency, LaserFlow is designated MCERTS Class 2.

LaserFlow_Blue_and_Black_right_WebThe LaserFlow velocity sensor remotely measures flow in open channels with non-contact Laser Doppler Velocity technology and non-contact Ultrasonic Level technology. The sensor uses advanced technology to measure velocity with a laser beam at single or multiple points below the surface of the wastewater stream.

The LaserFlow Ex velocity sensor can be installed in hazardous areas defined as Class 1, Div 1, Zone 0 and ATEX category 1G. It remotely measures flow in open channels with non-contact Laser Doppler Velocity technology and non-contact Ultrasonic Level technology.
